Heaney writes: so walk on air against your better judgement, encouraging all of us to step into those places that touch both the undeniable truth of the world and the art that arises from it. Everywhere, the world just as it is and, always, what we make of it-- no matter how improbable, unexpected or mysterious and especially when seemingly impossible. Come join us and we’ll walk together.
Now in its 35 th year, The Lisa Leizman Dance Company is the resident dance company of the Northampton Center for the Arts. The evening’s program includes new works My Heart is Not Here set to music by Arvo Part with lighting design by special guest Penny Remsen and Tiny Obstinate Trio with music by company composer-in-residence Andrea Kwapien. The company will also present repertory works Hymn to the Aten (music by Philip Glass from the opera Akhnaten), Paris then (music by Ned Rorem) and some kind of way with music by Derrick Hodge.
Following the performance, everyone is invited to stay for a festive reception with dinner by the dancers!
