Eli Daniel Nemetz Todd Memorial Fund
Supporting the Next Generation of Storytellers

Eli’s Fund was established in 2016 in loving memory of Eli Daniel Nemetz Todd, son of longtime NCFA board member Dorothy Nemetz. Eli was a gifted writer and a passionate lover of language from a young age. His life was filled with creativity, curiosity, and a deep commitment to the power of storytelling—until it was tragically cut short at the age of 23.

In honor of Eli’s life and artistic spirit, the Memorial Fund supports creative writing programs at the Northampton Center for the Arts. Through this fund, young and emerging writers have access to inspiring workshops, dedicated mentors, and the space to explore their voices and stories.

Thanks to Eli’s Fund, NCFA can offer writing workshops that are both accessible and professionally led—balancing low-cost tuition with fair compensation for our teaching artists. Today, most writing program tuition is offered on a sliding scale, and no one is turned away for lack of funds. Behind every scholarship or reduced fee is support from this fund.
