THE ARTIST MEMBERSHIP PROJECT

Supporting Creative Careers and Connection. Strengthening Our Arts Community.

The Northampton Center for the Arts is proud to launch AMP it Up!, a new Artist Membership Program designed to empower local artists through professional development, increased visibility, and inclusive exhibition opportunities.

This program not only supports individual creative growth—it strengthens the fabric of our cultural community by fostering connection, visibility, and sustainability for local artists.

WHY IT MATTERS

Many artists face real barriers to sustaining creative careers—lack of affordable workspaces, limited access to resources, and exclusion from traditional exhibition spaces. These challenges are especially acute for emerging artists and those from historically marginalized communities.

AMP it Up! helps break down those barriers by offering artists tools, opportunities, and support to thrive—while enriching the creative life of the Connecticut River Valley.

We’re investing in long-term, local solutions: accessible infrastructure, peer connection, and professional resources that help artists grow where they are.

WHAT’S INCLUDED

Artist Members receive a suite of benefits designed to amplify their work and deepen their connection to the local arts community over a year long period of time:

  • Quarterly (4 per year) Workshops on grants, submissions, income streams, and more

  • A 30 minute One-on-One Consulting Session with NCFA Co-Directors Heather Geoffrey & Kelly Silliman

  • Exhibition & Showcase Opportunities

    • Introduction and welcome to selected artist during Arts Night Out in January 2026

    • Visual artist -month long exhibition opportunity in the Split Level Gallery with other member artist during our Revely at 33 Gala event in April.

    • Showcase Opportunitiy (Dates and Specifics to be determined) for performing artist & written word artists )

  • Discounted facility rentals for rehearsal, meetings, or creative work

    • $15/hour (Eli’s Room or Dance Studio)

    • $25/hour (Flex Space – weekdays before 4 PM)

  • Featured Artist Profile on NCFA’s website with bio, artwork, and website link for a year and ongoing mention/highlight as previous year participant once the year is finished.

  • Opportunities to meet, network and collaborate with co-hort members

  • Social Media Artist Highlights on Facebook, Instagram, Bluesky and LinkedIn

MEMBERSHIP DETAILS

  • Sliding-scale membership fee: $150–$500

    • If you are unable to pay the minimum on the sliding scale and wish to participate, we encourage you to fill out the application form and learn more.

  • Annual enrollment period: November 15th through the end of December

  • The application form will be available during this period

  • Program runs: January–December

  • Capacity: 25 artists per year

    • 10 first-come, first-served

    • 5 reserved for BIPOC artists

    • 5 selected by lottery

    • 5 reserved for emerging artists
