FUN WITH PHOTOGRAPHY

FOUR SUNDAYS, SEPTEMBER 6-27, 4:00-6:00PM

Fun with photography! Demystify your camera settings! This class will include easy to understand instructions for using F-stop/aperture, shutter speed & ISO settings to create more exciting, interesting and creative photos. We’ll also review basics of composition and natural lighting. For advanced photographers, Jesse can also help artists get collections ready for photo shows or other opportunities.

In the first half of class time we’ll take short, fun photo walks in town and in the neighborhood. In the second half of class, we’ll review, critique and edit photos. Students enrolled in this class should bring a digital or film camera (or phone camera) and a device for editing photos (laptop, tablet or phone). We”ll be using free photo editing apps including Pixlr, Photopea, Snapseed and the free mobile versions of Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.

Whether you are a beginning, intermediate or advanced photographer, consider taking this fun photography class to further develop your skills and to connect with fellow artists in our creative community!

Jesse Merrick is a local photographer and photo/video teacher based in Florence, MA who has taught photo/video classes for many years. His side hustle is working as a professional photographer, specializing in fine art, street and black and white photography. Jesse is thankful to be part of our vibrant, supportive and creative community, including the Northampton Center for the Arts.
