Enchanted about dance as a sustainable physical practice, Francesca Baron delights to be in conversation with/in movement + dance-making alongside students, collaborators and communities: “dancing is the realest way for me to show up in the world. This felt sense way of living makes the most sense. It’s the conduit with which I see clearly. Like a filtered lens my dance practice allows me to be open, receiving, and active.” Baron’s creative kindling is composited by themes of tenacity, subtlety, femininity, and temporality. Her choreographic and performative work is known by its nuance, dexterity, and rigor with the moving body holding the epicenter. Valuing both the kinetic and somatic experience, she aims to capture a fleeting moment of the human experience; a bid for connection, here to offer feeling and a bit of wonder. In the past decade Baron has produced original work that has been presented at academic institutions, dance festivals, self-produced shows, film festivals, art galleries, theater productions, weddings, and on dance companies, studios, and competition stages across the Midwest and New England. Gabby Carmichael is an educator, dancer, and choreographer who has performed extensively throughout New York City and Massachusetts. She approaches dance as a site for transformation and collaboration, and her choreographic work is driven by a curiosity with how the body stores, reshapes, and recalls memory across time. She holds an MFA in Dance from Smith College, a BA in Dance and Anthropology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and is a 500+ hour certified yoga teacher. She currently teaches dance at Smith College and The School for Contemporary Dance & Thought in Northampton, MA. She has performed works by Barbie Diewald, Chavi Bansal, Annie Heath, and Madison Palfy. Her work has been presented at Smith College, Gibney Dance, New Dance Alliance, Movement Research at the Judson Church, BAAD Bronx, Center for Performance Research, Triskelion Arts, and the School of Contemporary Dance & Thought, and she has been in residence at The Field Center, The Floor on Atlantic, MOTive Brooklyn, Leimay, and Brooklyn Arts Exchange.

Indë (they/he) creates multidisciplinary compositions that amplify Black and queer voices, both present and prematurely past/passed, prioritizing public art that promotes solidarity and empowers people with new liberatory tools and experiences. Their aspirations as an artist and educator are rooted in a love of creative problem-solving and an uncompromising commitment to advancing equity and media literacy. Nona Monahin is a musicologist, dance historian, choreographer, and former dancer. She teaches historical dance at Mount Holyoke College and enjoys making dances in her own eclectic (non-historical) style. For this perofrmance, she will be collaborating with Janice Pegels (dancer/choreogeapher) and AMP visual artist Katrina Parker (video artist).

Zazie Tobey is a dance maker and educator who blends modern dance, butoh, and musical theatre experience into her choreography. She creates work about loud emotions and the most chaotic parts of the human experience. Zazie Tobey is the associate director of education at the Academy of Music, musical choreographer at NHS and a business owner of her own gardening company.
