Gallery Internship
Description:
NCFA seeks a part-time Gallery Intern to assist with operations of the Barn Door Gallery. Ideal candidates are creative, organized, and eager to engage with the public and support exhibitions, publicity, and community programming under the mentorship of the Gallery Associate.
Responsibilities:
Support gallery installation, de-installation, and basic maintenance
Catalog artwork and organize materials
Greet visitors and assist with publicity
Support events like Arts Night Out and other evening/weekend programs
Requirements:
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Knowledge of Google Docs/Sheets and Canva
Self-motivation and ability to work independently
Interest in art history and gallery/nonprofit work
Availability: On-site W–F 3–7 PM, Sat 12–3 PM (late May–early August); remote hours flexible
Majors:

Administrative Intern (Rentals)
Description:
This part-time internship supports NCFA’s space rental program, working directly with the Rentals Director. Ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, administrative interest, and a desire to support arts access in a community-focused environment.
Responsibilities:
Draft rental contracts and post event listings
Enter data into spreadsheets and update calendars
Provide administrative support and be present during Thursday office hours
Requirements:
Enrollment in a related field of study
Strong interpersonal and computer skills
Experience with Google Docs, Excel, and Microsoft Office
Availability: On-site Thursdays, 12–4 PM; additional flexible remote hours
Majors:

ArtPlay Summer Internship
Description:
This internship supports ArtPlay, NCFA’s interdisciplinary summer arts program for youth. The intern works closely with staff and teaching artists to lead creative activities, manage logistics, and help facilitate a joyful, inclusive environment for children.
Responsibilities:
Support program planning and administration
Facilitate small group crafts and creative activities
Greet families and interact with youth participants
Teach a class in a creative area of expertise
Requirements:
Strong communication and organizational skills
Experience with youth, arts education, or creative fields
Proficiency in Google Drive and social media
Availability: Full-time on-site M–F, 8:30 AM–4:30 PM, June 22–July 31, 2026; limited flexible hours May–Aug

Arts Administration Internship
Description:
The Northampton Center for the Arts (NCFA) is seeking an enthusiastic, part-time intern with a strong interest in arts administration and nonprofit leadership. This role offers hands-on experience supporting the operational and strategic aspects of managing a nonprofit arts organization. Interns work closely with a Co-Director in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.
Responsibilities:
Maintain and organize digital files, records, and databases
Assist with event budgets and organizational manuals
Research donors, draft acknowledgments, and support fundraising efforts
Coordinate events and provide on-site support
Develop marketing content and promotional materials
Collect data and help compile reports for funders and stakeholders
Requirements:
Enrollment in a related undergraduate or graduate program
Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills
Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Availability: On-site Fridays, 12–4 PM; some remote work M–F
Majors:
Arts Administration, Nonprofit Management, Business, English, Marketing, or related fields
