It uncovers themes of belonging and otherness while questioning who holds power and who is considered "other" in society. Experience a circus that transcends mere spectacle; watch as the performers jump through hoops and put on a show that may not be as joyous and straightforward as it appears from the audience's perspective.
A.P.E. Ltd presents RECORDS: Memory as Protest curated by Sophie Gill and Adrienne Albro-Fisher. In an era of media repression, book bans, mass censorship, and the war being waged on education, the acts of both individual and collective remembrance are powerful forms of social action. RECORDS: Memory as Protest offers a powerful collection of work exploring memory as a form of protest. This is the first group exhibition produced by The Emerging Curator Program at A.P.E.

Music saved her life- and she hopes to share the strength and joy she finds in it. More about her and her music can be found here.

We are very excited to present their work and to continue to explore the many ways in which they continue to tell the story of Northampton, its surrounding towns and the many diverse peoples, urban, and natural landscapes.
Head downstairs to Eli’s Room for a Noho Art Club meet-up hosted by Paige Quinn-Vasic! Come play with collage and gelli plate printing, and and check out Paige’s felt sushi demo, a new wet felting technique that she’ll be offering through the Center soon!
Quadralectic, hosted by A.P.E., can be seen in the Split Level Gallery. It celebrates the idea that creativity is defined but not limited by the media we use and that art can flourish when made with discernment rather than judgment. This exhibit, curated by Malinda (Mal) Labriola, features works by Siggie Zampa, R.L. Stilzkin, GASEO, and Mal Labriola.
All exhibits can also be seen during open hours Wednesday through Saturday, 12-7 p.m. More information about the Barn Door Gallery can be found here.

This showcase is a wonderful opportunity to view the artistic growth and unique styles of these talented artists.
Shadow and Light can be seen in the Split Level Gallery. Many cancer patients express their experiences with cancer in artwork and writing that’s rarely seen. Please join the Northampton Center for the Arts, A.P.E. Ltd., and Northampton Open Media at 33 Hawley for an opening reception with refreshments and live music during Arts Night Out on Friday, 7/12, from 5:00-8:00 pm! : Hold me close, I’m re-membering how it goes by Eli Liebman and Lynsey Robertson can be seen in the Barn Door Gallery. The works of Hold Me Close spring from the desire to question an unthinkable and unknowable world and self. The presented work - a body of quilts, a collaborative “newspaper,” and a few ceramic sculptures - embraces a wide range of disparate parts into familiar and quotidian containers.
Worldly Considerations: Unusual Reflections Paintings and prints by Martha Braun can be seen in the Split Level Gallery. If one has a consistent practice, a curious mind, and a conscious awareness of one’s own personal aesthetic, one can make art out of anything. The “anythings” prevalent in this work are the old and supposedly ruined, things that have inherent to them a sense of the passage of time. This element of history creates a context in which the mystical content of the imagery can resonate.
