Youth Theater Ages 7-10

Help your child build confidence, embrace spontaneity, practice teamwork, rehearse emotional regulation, make new friendships, and laugh! This ten-week theater class will cover the basics of improvisation, storytelling, and ensemble work. This class is capped at 12 children. Preteen Theater Ages 11-14

September 10-November 12, Tuesdays 4:30-5:30

Audition practice, stage combat, scene work, monologues, and masterclass-style teaching will give your pre-teen a crash course in the work it takes to be an actor!  Whether they are looking to start their journey or are looking for a way to stay sharp, this class offers a playground for young actors to work their craft.This class is capped at 10 children. Carissa Dagenais has been working with children as a teacher, director, drama therapist, and actor for almost ten years. She has been teaching theater to elementary school kiddos with Hampshire Shakespeare's Educational Workshops for the last five summers at the Williston Northampton school and worked as a teaching artist in NYC with multiple companies for three years. Carissa holds her BA in theater from Smith and MA in drama therapy from New York University. Outside of the theater Carissa works as a drama therapist with adults, adolescents, and children. 

Julian Findlay is an Actor, Director, Fight Choreographer, Producer, and is the Artistic Director of local theatre company, Shakespeare Stage. He has taught children Theatre for 10 years, starting with Shakespeare & co in Lenox, where he trained as an actor and director. He has taught numerous theatre workshops for children and adults, including at Northfield Mount Hermon school (his alma mater), and Williston School, and has been the Theatre Director of Stoneleigh Burnam school. Julian holds a B.A in Humanities and Theatre from Harvard University.
