Northampton Center for the Arts

Tickets: $12
The 24 Hour Dance is an evening—actually two evenings—of experimental dance performed and choreographed by Ariel Gonzalez Cohen and Kellie Ann Lynch with special guest performer Meredith Lyons.
Both performances will include new and revisited work by slipperyfish dance with special guest choreographer and performer Meredith Lyons. The highlight of this event will be the premiere of The 24 Hour Dance. Through audience participation and experimentation, Ariel Cohen and Kellie Lynch will be making a dance with the audience members of night one. They will have 24 hours to complete their dance and premiere it on night two. These two nights will offer two different performances and invite the audience to experience dance composition and play as they instruct the performers and witness the physical manifestation of their instruction.
slipperyfish dance is a Northampton-based, two-woman company. It is through challenging concepts and relentless dancing that these two women create reactive art to modern-day cultural stimuli. Their experimental dances often expand beyond the proscenium stage to encourage a tangible relationship between audience and dancer offering a three-dimensional performance experience.
Reservations are recommended and may be made by calling the Center, 413-584-7327.
