The Dance Generators will present their annual spring concert of new works May 31 and June 1. The concert will feature dances by company members Susan Waltner and Amy Kotel, as well as choreography and improvisation directed by Dance Generators’ Artistic Director Kristin Horrigan.

The Dance Generators are an intergenerational company consisting of 18 men and women who range in age from 22 to 89. Company members come together through a shared commitment to expressive movement and innovative art making. Their work challenges audiences’ ideas about dance and shatters stereotypes about aging. Founded in 1997 by Amie Dowling, the Dance Generators were a company-in-residence at A.P.E. in Northampton until 2008, and they have toured widely throughout New England. This season with the closing of the Thornes Marketplace location of A.P.E., the Dance Generators have found a new home at Northampton Center for the Arts.

The Dance Generators 2008 concert is made possible in part by generous support from the local cultural councils of Northampton, Amherst, Williamsburg and Hadley, MA.

Tickets may be purchased at the door or reserved in advance by calling 413-584-7327. Reservations are recommended.
