Eat Your Art Out
Food meets art on Thursday, April 26, when area chefs participate in a food art competition that accompanies the Northampton Center for the Arts annual “Eat Your Art Out” fundraiser. Twenty-eight restaurants have pledged 10% of their receipts for the day to the Center in support of its community arts programming.
Competing in the creative-cuisine art will be Apollo Grill, Herrell's Ice Cream, India House, Luna Pizza, Montana's Steakhouse, Osaka, Siam Square, Sierra Grille, SooRa, Spoleto, Teapot and Wiggins Tavern.
When the judging is complete, the edible art competition prizes will be awarded at a brief ceremony at Wiggins Tavern Pub at the Hotel Northampton and some restaurants will have their entries on display during the dinner hour. Last year’s winner was Spoleto.
The restaurants that are donating 10% of their receipts for the day are: Apollo Grill, Bueno Y Sano, Café Evolution, Coolidge Park Café, Fitzwilly’s, Haymarket Café, Herrell’s Ice Cream, India House, Joe’s Café, Lhasa Café, Luna Pizza, Mama Iguana’s, Montana’s Steak House, Mulino’s Trattoria, Northampton Brewery, Osaka, Paul& Elizabeth’s, Roberto’s, Siam Square, Sierra Grille, SooRa, Spoleto, Sylvester’s, Teapot, Thai Garden, Union Station, Viva Fresh Pasta, and Wiggins Tavern.
Eating lunch and/or dinner (or even breakfast) with friends in these restaurants on April 26 will provide a delicious and painless way to support the performing and visual arts in general and, in particular, help the Northampton Center for the Arts to continue providing affordable performance and gallery space for area artists.
The event’s underwriters are: The Daily Hampshire Gazette, 93.9 The River, Goggins Real Estate, Fierst, Pucci & Kane LLP; Northampton Cooperative Bank and Northampton Dermatology Associates.
